NORWICH – Although Jesse Scott was only here a short-while, those who knew him best say his legacy still carries a lifetime’s worth of inspiring memories.

“He was such a good friend to everyone,” said Norwich resident Cassie Andrews, a friend of Jesse’s. “He had that personality that really drew in all different kinds of people.”

Now, 10 years after the Norwich High School student died tragically in a car accident, Jesse’s loved ones are inviting everyone to celebrate his life – in the spirit of music and friendship – at “Jesse’s Jam.” The jam, featuring a diverse line-up of local acoustical acts, starts at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Music Shop Pub in downtown Norwich.

“Rather than focus on his passing,” said Greene resident Todd Cole, Jesse’s friend and one of the event’s organizers, “we wanted this day to be something that would celebrate his life.”

A $5 cover charge or a donation of Purina brand dog or cat food for the Chenango County SPCA will be accepted at the door.
