Greene Footlights presents "Oliver!"

GREENE – The Greene Footlights student organization will be performing the musical “Oliver” at the Greene High School Auditorium. The huge double cast includes a total of 65 students from both middle and high school grade levels.

“This is the first time in a few years we’ve got both schools together for one performance and it’s been a huge undertaking, but we pulled it all together beautifully,” said co-director Amanda Boel, who is the general music teacher for junior high and vocal teacher for the high school. The other co-director is Nicole Cline, a Harpursville music teacher who attended Greene in her youth.

Performances will begin at 7:30 tonight in the Greene Auditorium. Additional shows will be held at that same time Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, there will be a matinee performance at 3 p.m. Tickets will be sold at the door – $7 for adults, $5 for students and senior citizens. The show includes a full pit orchestra, costumes, choreography and vocals. The crew designed an expansive set that is attached to a large revolving floor.
