Auction goes to the dogs, literally

NORWICH – After volunteering to auction himself off for the SPCA, Norm Nichols might have felt a little nervous, but he shouldn’t have. On Saturday night, a date with Norm was auctioned off at The Auction Center in New Berlin.

Norm was sold for $100, and an additional $37 in donations were collected in donation cans throughout the auction house. The woman who won the auction declined the actual date, saying that she worked weekends and would not have time to accompany Nichols to the Turning Stone Casino’s Emerald Room. This resulted in yet another win for the SPCA, as Nichols now plans to donate the cost of the dinner trip to the organization as well.
