Improvements in store for city's website

NORWICH – According to Mayor Joseph Maiurano, plans are currently in the works to update the City of Norwich website. Redesigning the site has been on the agenda for some time, but had been overlooked due to other pressing matters. Maiurano hopes the new website will make city government more accessible to the public.

“Updating the website has been an important task, but not an urgent one, from a time management perspective,” said City Finance Director William Roberts, explaining why the project had not been undertaken before now. The current City of Norwich website has remained relatively unchanged since 2001.

“I want to really push to get this started in the next 30 days,” said Maiurano. The mayor hopes the updates to the website will make it more accessible to the public. He uses the City of Oneonta’s website as an example of what he would like to see.
