Adult novelty store opens in Norwich

NORWICH – The Town of Norwich is home to a new business unique to Chenango County – Lovejoy’s Boutique will be the only adult novelty store in the area.

“It’s nothing controversial, two-thirds of what we’re selling you could buy at Spencer’s in the mall or any other novelty shop. We have some adult material, but anyone of any age could get much worse off the Internet or from TV easily. At least here you’ll have to show up in person,” said owner Alberti Fraccola.

Norwich Planning Board Chairman Theodore Guinn said the adult-oriented business required no special reviews or permits and was held to the same standards as any business. “Just like everybody else, nothing special,” said Guinn.

Fraccola is no stranger to running this type of business; he owns one and is partner in another in the Binghamton area.

It's a free country. It's not like people don't have access to other venues. Does the store offend people because it reminds them of a choice they themselves don't make or agree with or that it's truly unhealthy? I'm not afraid of sexuality or a persons right to choose, life is to short. Sex, love, pleasure are heathy things both in mind and body.

p.s. Maggie, everything you said was like throwing gold.

Some people see sexuality as a healthy, natural, and even sacred expression of love and caring for another person. Keeping it fresh and exciting is an intelligent and generous way to keep the spark between a couple alive. And Lovejoy's will help many couples to do just that. There's nothing "shocking" or dirty about that.

Free enterprise is free enterprise as long as local permits and licenses have been issued. You have the personal decision to shop there or not. Food for thought: God gave you all the necessary equipment, if you need toys maybe you're doing it wrong:)

I am shocked that this type of business was permitted in Norwich. Tell us more about the items you will be selling and about the stores you have or had in Binghamton? I think Mr.Fraccola should keep his porn in Binghamton

GOOD! Thats a small area to say the least! & it needs to have such stores to show their growing with the times & not stuck in the 1800's like we all know that area, Chenango, is a time warped! I had to leave & live here in Los Angeles now & dont ever wanna live in such a small area like that ever again!! We also know that small towns are infested with small minds so I'm shocked that it was allowed in the first place! Shocked!!!, & we all know Norwich & Chenango county period, is known for its smallest of minded people..
