NORWICH – The soon-to-be owner of The Eaton Center says the last thing he wants is to take over an empty building.

In an effort to clear the air, prospective buyer Randal Hadeed will be holding an informal get-together with his future tenants on Thursday.

“I think it’s great,” said tenant Linda Horovitz, owner and operator of Chenango Speech & Hearing, in regards to the meeting. “It’s definitely a positive step. I look forward to talking with him (Hadeed).”

Renters in the 200,000 square foot facility have voiced concern over the change in ownership, saying they haven’t been kept informed by the county’s Area Corporation – the building’s current not-for-profit owner – and Hadeed since discussions regarding the $1 million sale began months ago.
