New Berlin pizzeria celebrates 25 years

NEW BERLIN – Bring memories, memorabilia and your appetite to downtown New Berlin this weekend for New York Pizzeria’s 25th anniversary celebration.

There will be food specials offered all day Saturday and special stories shared that have filled the New Berlin area for the past 25 years.

New York Pizzeria has a long-standing reputation in the area for its food and hospitality among New Berlin residents and anyone wanting a taste of Italian cuisine.

On a September day in 1981, New York Pizzeria owner Frank Baio decided to take an alternative route home when he came across the Village of New Berlin. Baio says he immediately fell in love with what he saw.

“It was like love at first sight,” he said.

Besides loving the country and the aura New Berlin possessed, Baio saw an opportunity he just couldn’t pass up. Having already owned pizzerias in neighboring areas, he quickly noticed there was no pizzeria in New Berlin.
