Travel team wins three of four games

JOHNSON CITY – The Norwich YMCA Sixth Grade Travel Basketball Team competed last weekend in the Johnson City Holiday Classic winning three of four games in the 16-team, two-division event.



Playing in the top division, Norwich just missed making the championship game via a tie-breaker. In their first game, Norwich defeated Endicot,t 45-34. Grant Brightman led Norwich with 13 points. Next, Norwich defeated Binghamton 54-32 led by the hot outside shooting of Danny Carson’s (13 points). In a rematch with a Maine-Endwell team that handily beat Norwich a week earlier, Norwich could not hang onto a late- game lead and fell 43-39 for their only loss in the tournament. Michael Sutton paced Norwich with 13 points.
