NORWICH - Property owners in most municipalities gained a slight reduction in taxes as Chenango County issued year 2007 tax rates for each of its 22 municipalities.
Coventry saw the sharpest decrease in its county general fund levy: down $5.74 per $1,000 of assessed valuation. The City of Norwich saw the highest jump, rising 58 cents. McDonough, Norwich and Pitcher also saw increases.
