Greene 59, Walton 28
GREENE Barb Borst hit four three-pointers on four straight possessions in the second quarter to break open a tight game in Greenes opening-game victory over Walton Wednesday.
The Trojans scored all 15 of their second-quarter points on three balls Jessica Smith had the other basket and Smith scored six more points in the third quarter. I was pleasantly surprised with this game to say the least, said Greene head coach Bill Case. I was glad our first game was at home. They had already played one game this season, and I was worried about that.
Borst had a team-high 18 points, Smith added 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and four steals. As a team, the Trojans (1-0) were 8-for-14 from beyond the three-point arc. Liz Wentlent tacked on 11 markers.
