NORWICH – Kevin Begeal appeared before the Norwich City Court Monday morning to be officially charged with the beginning of a long list of crimes. It took 12 minutes before City Court Judge James Downey finished reading the list of charges against Begeal, accused by police of committing a rash of burglaries to local businesses over the weekend. The list read in court included five felonies and 10 misdemeanors.

There are many charges still pending and the criminal investigation is still under way, but Begeal faces several charges of 3rd degree burglary and possibly a handful of 2nd degree burglaries, because at one of the shops he allegedly stole a dagger and subsequently for every burglary committed after, he can be considered armed. He is also facing several counts of petit larceny, 3rd and 4th degree criminal mischief charges.
