Pataki expected to sign eminent domain bill today

NORWICH – A spokesperson for New York State Sen. Thomas Libous said Governor George E. Pataki is scheduled to sign eminent domain legislation this afternoon that would prevent New York Regional Interconnect, Inc. form taking private property for its proposed power line project.



The subsidiary of Toronto-based Colmac Power has proposed erecting an 11-story high electrical transmission line that would cut through 190 miles of the state from Utica to New Windsor, passing through 44 miles and six townships in Chenango County.
