Barbecue restaurant opens doors

NORWICH – Road House Bar-B-Que is now open for business. The new restaurant is located on State Highway 12 between Norwich and North Norwich.

“Five years ago we started to get the idea to bring real barbecue to the Norwich area.” said Shannon Purdy. owner and operator. “It was kind of always a dream,” she said. The Road House is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.



The restaurant is owned by Larry Leight, Dale Purdy, his wife Shannon, and their son Christopher. The restaurant received a full makeover before opening, “We started from scratch,” said Shannon. “We make everything, including our baked goods,” she said. The restaurant creates all its own food and sauces from their own original “family recipes.” “Nothing is frozen,” said Shannon. The Road House has it own smoker and barbecue pits outside,and has a complete grill and kitchen inside.
