CONKLIN – Samantha Williams had a hat trick for the Sabers in a shutout victory over Norwich Tuesday.

SV scored four goals in the first half to take command. “We did not play close to our best today,” said Norwich coach Scotty Decker. “For whatever reason, I just don’t think we were up for the game.”

Norwich plays at Whitney Point Friday.

SOUTH OTSELIC – Becky Williams scored two goals for the Indians, who scored three of their goals on just four shots Tuesday.

Greene 4, Oxford 1

GREENE – Greene was well aware of Oxford’s capabilities, and didn’t underestimate the improved Blackhawks in the least.

The Trojans (6-4) received two goals from Haley Burns and another from Megan McDermott to grab a 3-0 lead within the first 14 minutes. Greene received a big boost with the return of sophomore Shelby Averett, who missed the last two games with an injury. Averett picked up two assists.



“We’ve learned to not take anyone lightly,” said Greene coach Randy Smith. “We knew coming in that because (Oxford) beat Unadilla Valley and we lost to Unadilla Valley, they would come in feeling they could beat us. I told our girls to not let that happen.”

McDermott added her second goal in the first half.

Oxford’s Kelly Whitehill scored unassisted in the first half.

WINDSOR – Greene racked up the shots and corners, and if not for a bit of fortune on Windsor’s side and some good goaltending, the final count could have been much more lopsided.

“We had a ton of good opportunities and a lot of close calls,” said Greene coach Sue Carlin, whose club finished with 32 shots. “Their goalie did a great job.”

Sara Ostrander, Holly Davis, Megan Boeltz, and Erin Dunlap all had goals as Greene improved to 4-1. The Trojans host Whitney Point Thursday.
