Otsego County Fair opens in Morris

MORRIS – The sounds of laughs and screams, the noise of commotion followed by smells of fried dough, German franks, cotton candy, hot sausage and more ... you guessed it, the Otsego County Fair is back in town.

Not unlike any other fair, there are rides, games, food, entertainment, and more at the Morris fairgrounds. The opening day’s events Tuesday included the 4-H dog show, harness racing, a casserole contest, 4-H dairy showmanship, safe summer safari, Randy’s harp tunes, various demonstrations, a 4-H rabbit show, and of course the fire service and school band parade followed by fireworks.

Even with temperatures in the triple digits yesterday, fairgoers did not seem bothered – many still came out to experience the day’s events.

Gertie Schecter and her two sons Mason and Benjamin looked exhausted in the almost unbearable heat as they circled the fairgrounds looking for entertainment.
