NORWICH – With a clear day in the high 80s predicted for Sunday and ticket sales on a brisk par, the Chenango County Republican Party expects another successful Lobsterfest.
The county’s predominant party will host, among others, gubernatorial candidate John Faso this Sunday at the Canasawacta Country Club. Among other Republicans expected at the yearly fundraiser, those who attend will have the opportunity to break shell with state attorney general hopeful Jeanine Pirro and congressional aspirant Raymond Meier.
“We expect between 575 and 600 people. Ticket sales are good. We are about on target from last year,” Republican Committee Chairman Thomas L. Morrone said. “We look forward to great weather. It is not only political, it will be good fun.”
Also expected to be mingling among guests are senate hopeful, Kathleen “KT” McFarland, candidate for state comptroller Chris Callaghan, Supreme Court Judge Dennis McDermott, Assembly hopeful Peter Lopez, City of Norwich Mayor Joseph Maiurano and county Treasurer William Evans. Longtime party representatives, James L. Seward, Thomas W. Libous and Gary D. Finch are also expected to be in attendance. In addition to those currently in office or hoping to be, a selection of retired officials will be on hand.
