Ives Cream cuts ribbon on downtown store

NORWICH – From producer to consumer – that’s what the grand opening of Ives Cream was all about. The dream of Katie & Alex Ives was realized when they were able to serve a great locally produced ice cream to the many attendees of the Gus Macker event in downtown Norwich this weekend.

Ward 2 Alderman Terry Bresina, representing the City of Norwich, offered Alex and Katie Ives a proclamation on behalf of Mayor Joseph Maiurano, who was out of town on business.

“I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’ve been waiting for this day for two years,” Bresina prefaced his remarks. “I first tasted Ives Cream two summers ago at the Chenango County Farm Bureau ice cream social.  And I haven’t missed one since.”
