Sherburne heritage days in 2nd year

SHERBURNE - The Sheburne Historic Park Society will offer a unique opportunity this weekend. With a lawn full of Civil War re-enactors at their School Street park, residents will have an opportunity to see what an authentic regiment looked like more than a century ago.

The park society will host its second annual Sherburne Heritage Days Weekend this Friday, Saturday and Sunday on their park grounds and at different locations around the village. The events of the weekend came out of a reenacting group’s interest in a local soldier.

“The 61st re-enactors’’ group were here in Sherburne doing research on Charles A. Fuller of the 61st Regiment at the library,” Town Historian Rose Wellman said. “They said they would like to do something here in honor of him.”
