OET questions renewing lease

NORWICH – Dwindling state grants could mean the Chenango County Office of Employment and Training may have to soon vacate its 1 O’Hara Drive address in the city.

Funds allocated from the Workforce Investment Act Title One program were about 26 percent less from 2005.

OET Director Gary Waffle told Finance Committee supervisors that he had elected to renew a lease for the space for a six month term at $11,000 instead of the yearly $22,000 lease. The 18,000 square feet office space has been leased from the New York State Labor Department since 2004.
