NORWICH Soon summer will truly begin for the majority of school students, as the end of the academic year draws towards its final days.
The Chenango County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, along with The Place, will be presenting a Safe Summer Fun Day, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, June 15 at the Kurt Beyer Park in Norwich.
The goal is not just an event with an emphasis on safety, but something people will be able to enjoy with their families, said organizer Zach Keller.
The Norwich Police Department will be on hand to inspect and register any bikes, along with other safety equipment. There will also be a bike rodeo, obstacle safety course and a raffle for a free mountain bike.
