NORWICH — Coffee with the Chiefs is a twice-annual event where City of Norwich residents can bring their public safety questions and concerns and talk with the city's fire and police chief. The event will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 21 at Kozmos's Hometown Eatery on Broad Street.

Visitors can enjoy free refreshments and talk one-on-one with City of Norwich Police Chief Reuben Roach and Fire Department Chief Jan Papelino while learning more about what their respective departments do and how they operate.

Recently Norwich Mayor Brian Doliver said they feel it’s important and they’re finding any way they can to reach out. He said the fire department has always had an open house so they can reach out to kids and schools, talk to the kids about fire safety. The police department does certain things and the Citizen’s Academy will get going too.

“So we’re hoping to continue to find different ways to talk to the public about what we do. It's important," said Doliver.
